What is an expandable section and how can I use it?

As we have done with the other components, make sure that you have your column and row framework set up on the page to start with, then simply click on the expandable section component/tool drag and drop it into either the row or column that you want the attachment to show on the screen.

(remember you can only drop when you the row or column turns blue and says drop component here!)

To make the expandable section more interactive then we need to switch to the advanced setting

The first thing you will see is that show same title in all views and show same content in all views is ticked - un-tick these (as you don't want the same text in all collapsed and expandable sections or keep them ticked if you do)

Next you need to look at the view: collapsed section

view name: you can rename this however I would keep it as collapsed as that is the state you are currently focusing on.

component completion status: I'm selecting in progress for this example

transition: there is a wide range of choices in the drop down I'm selecting fade

disabled and expanded: you can tick or un-tick depending on what you want them to do.

You then need to add some actions for the collapsed view

edit action: you can change the name to something relevant to you only you will see this.

when the learner does: from the drop down select your action (I am using click)

this happens: again from the drop down select another action (I am using move to view)

to view: you have two choices either collapsed or expanded (I am using expanded)

Then click on done.

Now you need to look at your setting for the expanded view

view name: you can rename this however I would keep it as expanded as that is the state you are currently focusing on.

component completion status: I'm selecting in complete for this example

transition: there is a wide range of choices in the drop down I'm selecting fade

disabled and expanded, you should tick the expanded box (as you want the section to expand)
